Kerry Yanez
Kerry Yanez is an attorney who defends people (adults and juveniles) accused of committing crimes in Tarrant County.
Kerry is a first generation American who grew up in Fort Worth and graduated with honors from Southwest High School. He became a George Washington Carver Scholar at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, graduating with honors (B.S. Sociology with Minors in Economics and History, 1993). Kerry returned to Texas to study law at The University of Texas (J.D. 1996), and he became a licensed attorney in Texas on November 1, 1996.Over the course of his 23 years of private practice with law firms in Fort Worth, Kerry Yanez has represented people with a firm belief that the criminal and juvenile justice systems do not work without the accused person having a vigorous and effective defense. Kerry, who is fluent in Spanish, works to ensure that Spanish-speakers also have access to high quality defense in their cases.
Kerry is a member of the Criminal Justice and Juvenile Justice Sections of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Tarrant County Mexican American Bar Association.
Kerry enjoys spending his free time with his wife of 20 years and their two daughters. He also gives back to the community through his involvement in church and local organizations.
